augustus 13, 2022Ananas 5-spice BBQ Ribs
oktober 15, 2022Many recipes on this website have a sweet taste (because yes, that’s just delicious), but there are also other ultimate combinations. One of them is Chili with Lime. A combination that feels very Asian. And let me tell you, I’m a big fan of that too. After all, I’ve already made other recipes with Asian influences. Think of the Go Tan ribs or the Chinese 5 spice ribs!
Long preparation time? Not at all! I’ve received many questions about why the recipes I make often take so long to prepare. Well, it’s not always that bad. You don’t have to stand by for hours, but I understand the question. Now, you have an advantage in the oven, and that is that it only needs a third to half of the cooking time. You can put this in the oven and go shopping or enjoy a good book before it’s ready. It only takes 3 hours to have these spicy, refreshing ribs on the table.
Ingredients
2 racks of spare ribs
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika powder
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/3 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Zest from 2 limes
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F).
- Remove the membrane from the concave side of the spare ribs.
- Coat the ribs with olive oil.
- Combine all the ingredients for the rub in a bowl.
- Rub the ribs thoroughly with the spice rub, making sure it covers them evenly.
- Place the ribs on a baking tray and roast them on a rack in the oven for 2.5 to 3 hours until they are juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Occasionally check to ensure they’re not cooking too quickly. If you think they are, wrap the ribs in aluminum foil and add a bit of fresh Thai beer or apple juice to create steam. It’s optional but a tip for making the ribs more tender.
- Once the ribs are done, remove them from the oven. Enjoy your meal!
